Alex Japit, PT, DPT
Alexander Japit, PT, DPT, graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Queens’ University in Charlotte, NC. He then went on to receive his Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from Elon University.
As a long-time practitioner of traditional Chinese martial arts and Yoga, Alex, a myofascial therapist, has a strong interest in integrative healthcare and is passionate about safe, non-pharmaceutical approaches to promoting health and wellness. His unique background and desire to treat the whole body led to pursuing additional training in Primal Foundations: a movement approach that integrates different movement methodologies such as GMB Fitness, SFMA, DNS, Animal Locomotion, and Foundation training to address and restore whole body movement patterns.
Alex supplements his interests in whole body movement with additional training in psychologically informed physical therapy using Lifestyle Medicine’s approaches of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and the PRISM (Pain Recovery and Integrative Systems Model) model, which he studied through the Integrative Pain Science Institute under the renown Joe Tatta, DPT.
Alex has experience treating patients with a wide variety of orthopedic, neurological, vestibular, and cardiopulmonary conditions in outpatient settings.
Outside of the clinic, Alex can be found enjoying all manner of tabletop games and being physically active, often trying (and sometimes succeeding) at doing handstands and different physical party tricks.
