Make the Most of Your Physical Therapy at Roper PT: Self-Myofascial Release

Roper PT’s Self-Myofascial Release Workshop is BACK! This workshop was designed and implemented specifically to educate and empower patients to become active participants in their own healing and recovery process. Our patients will learn self-myofascial release techniques in order to continue the healing journey and extend the benefits of physical therapy sessions. Physical therapists will share how to use your hands and a variety of tools for self-myofascial release, assisting in alleviating tightness, pain, and improve range of motion.

Our toolbox includes 2 different size balls, foam roller, occipivot, theracane, and your own hands! There are a few tips for self-myofascial release:

  1. Breathe
  2. This technique is gentle. Go easy on
  3. Hold for a minimum of 3-5 minutes to get long lasting releases

Learn more about the techniques and tips while getting personalized instruction on best practices for the areas of your body you want to work on! Our PTs at Roper Physical Therapy have seen so many positive results, including faster recovery times, when combining myofascial release with regular physical therapy sessions. This is why we hold our Self-Myofascial Release Workshop on the first and third Fridays of every month at 12:30 pm!
